Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Risen Star Collective. Some information is provided directly by you, while other information is created when you use platform features.

• Account information, such as your email address, username, display name, authentication identifiers, and account role.
• Profile information you choose to provide, such as your bio, avatar, header image, location, interests, and favorite books.
• User content, such as posts, reflections, life moments, comments, messages, shared Scripture, reports, and other community activity.
• Personal study data, such as private notes, saved Scriptures, verse-level highlights, favorites, reading progress, reading position, and reading lists.
• Support, donation, subscription, merchandise, preorder, waitlist, shipping, and contact information where those features are used.
• Technical information, such as device and browser information, IP address, log data, error details, and general usage information used to operate and protect the platform.
• Inputs submitted to AI-assisted features and the responses generated for those requests.

How We Use Information

• Provide, maintain, and personalize Risen Star Collective features.
• Save notes, highlights, reading progress, posts, messages, preferences, and account settings.
• Generate AI-assisted Scripture recommendations and plain-language study aids when requested.
• Process donations, subscriptions, merchandise, preorders, and related support requests where applicable.
• Protect users and the platform through security, moderation, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and fraud prevention.
• Send service-related communications, safety notices, and important platform updates.
• Meet legal, safety, and platform obligations when required.

AI-Assisted Features

AI is used here as a study aid to help point you back to Scripture. Scripture remains the authority. This is not a replacement for the Bible, prayer, pastoral care, wise counsel, or professional help.

When you use an AI-assisted feature, the selected Scripture and the text you submit may be sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Avoid entering sensitive personal information that you do not want processed by that provider.

AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or missing important context. Review them carefully and check them against Scripture and context before relying on or sharing them.

Private Notes and Personal Study Data

Private notes, saved Scriptures, personal highlights, and reading progress are intended to be visible only to you unless you intentionally share or publish that content. Risen Star does not use private notes as public feed content.

If you convert a note or study aid into a post and choose to publish it, the published copy becomes public content and is handled under the community rules. The original note remains private unless you take another action to share it.

Public Content

Posts, reflections, comments, selected profile details, public activity, and content you intentionally share may be visible to other users and may be reshared through platform features. Only share information you are comfortable making public.

Messages

Messages are intended for the people you select. They are not public posts. Messages may still be reviewed when they are reported, or when review is reasonably needed for safety, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or protection of users and the platform.

Payments, Donations, and Preorders

Payments, donations, subscriptions, merchandise, and preorders may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Risen Star Collective does not directly store full credit or debit card numbers. Payment providers process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may receive limited transaction details needed to confirm payment, provide receipts, manage fulfillment, prevent fraud, and respond to support requests.

Third-Party Services

Risen Star Collective relies on service providers to operate the platform. Depending on the features you use, these may include Supabase for authentication and data services, Vercel for hosting, Stripe for payments, OpenAI for AI-assisted features, and email, analytics, or logging providers configured for platform operations.

These providers may process limited information on our behalf under their own terms, privacy notices, and security practices.

How Information May Be Shared

We do not currently sell personal information to advertisers. Information may be shared with service providers needed to operate the platform, when you direct us to share it, or when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, or protection of users and the platform.

If the platform is reorganized, merged, or transferred in the future, information may be included in that process subject to applicable safeguards and notice where required.

Data Retention

Account and content information may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward when needed to operate the service. When an account is deleted, information may be removed, anonymized, or disconnected from the account.

Limited records may be retained when reasonably needed for security, moderation, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute handling, or conversation integrity. Retention periods can differ based on the type of information and why it is kept.

Your Choices

• Update your profile and account settings.
• Delete content you created where deletion controls are available.
• Control what you choose to post or share publicly.
• Request deletion of personal data or delete your account through Account & Data settings.
• Block or report users and content using available safety tools.
• Contact us with a privacy or data question.

Children Under 13

Risen Star Collective is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Safety and Crisis Content

Risen Star Collective is not an emergency service or crisis response provider. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, may be harmed, or may hurt themselves, contact local emergency services, crisis support, or a trusted person who can help immediately. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and call 911 for immediate danger.
